Lagrein PIETRAMONTIS, The Classics

Name: Trentino DOC

Area: Mountain vineyards in Trentino, Piana Rotaliana

Soil: Alluvial, with high fertility at the surface and excellent drainage in the subsoil

Serving temperature: 18–20 °C

Vinification: The grapes are harvested manually and selectively and vinified as red wine. Fermentation takes place with skin maceration for 8–15 days at a controlled temperature of 26–28°C. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks and, to a lesser extent, in barriques. Further refinement in the bottle follows for several months.

Visual examination: Deep ruby red colour with violet reflections.

Nose analysis: Intense nose with notes of wild berries, violets and dark chocolate, complemented by a light spicy touch.

Palate: Dry flavor with well-integrated tannins and lovely juiciness. Soft and velvety, with very lingering flavor notes.

Pairings: Structured and full-bodied wine. Pairs well with cold cuts, typical Trentino appetizers (lasagna, pasta with ragù, risotto), lamb, game and fine game (venison, chamois), beef, roasts, and aged cheeses.

Lagrein
This is a distinctive indigenous grape variety from Trentino-Alto Adige, known for its deep color, firm structure, and ripe tannins. It produces powerful yet elegant wines with aromas of dark fruit, violets, spices, and sometimes a hint of chocolate.
