Michele Simoni Müller Thurgau

Müller Thurgau is a white grape variety developed in Switzerland at the end of the 19th century through a cross between Riesling Renano and Madeleine Royale. In the 1970s, it arrived in the Cembra Valley, where it found ideal conditions to express its aromatic and slightly acidic qualities.

Production area
Vineyards located in the amphitheatre surrounding the Palù di Giovo area, with a south-southwest exposure on calcareous and clayey soils, at an altitude of between 550 and 700 metres.

Vineyard
A simple Trentino pergola serves as a training system, with a planting density of 4,500 vines per hectare. The vineyards are between 10 and 30 years old.

Vinification
The harvest is carried out entirely by hand.
Gentle pressing of the whole grapes.
Fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by a six-month maturation on the yeasts.
Minimum rest period of 3 to 4 months before commercialization.

Riesling Renano (Rhine Riesling)
In Italy, it's primarily found in northern regions like Trentino-Alto Adige and Friuli. This grape produces elegant, fresh wines with pronounced acidity, citrus and floral aromas, and a mineral finish. It perfectly reflects the cool mountain climate of Northern Italy.

Madeleine Royale
A rarer grape variety in Italy, primarily used for hybridization. It stands out for its early ripeness and soft, fruity character. In hybrids—such as Müller Thurgau—it brings roundness, mild aromas, and an accessible freshness.
