Name
Policalpo is the name of a vineyard whose Barbera and Cabernet grapes are used for this wine. An old, refined name that perfectly suits the elegant style of this wine.

Harvest
The grapes are picked by hand in the first half of October and immediately taken to the cellar for vinification.

Vinification
The must ferments together with the skins at a temperature of approximately 29°C.
The Barbera and Cabernet grapes are fermented together, with a maceration of at least fifteen days to obtain maximum extraction of colorants, tannins and especially aromatic precursors.
During maturation, the young wine undergoes careful malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques.

Maturation and storage
The wine matures for twelve months in barrique, followed by at least six months of bottle ageing.
Politicalpo comes onto the market in the second year after the harvest.
Its solid structure and balanced composition allow it to continue to develop in elegance and harmony for at least 7 to 8 years.

Characteristics of the wine
Clear, deep ruby red with light garnet tones characteristic of high-quality wines for laying down.

Intense, broad and refined bouquet with a lingering scent.
Ethereal and spicy notes mingle with subtle hints of licorice, vanilla and tobacco, combined with a light vegetal touch typical of Cabernet.

Warm, elegant and austere yet seductive on the palate; a harmonious and balanced wine with a firm structure and great complexity.
Long lasting and intense aftertaste.

14–15% vol.

Serving suggestions and combinations
Best served in large crystal glasses at 18°C. Decanting is recommended for older bottles.

An excellent accompaniment to refined meat dishes from classic or regional cuisine. It pairs perfectly with dishes featuring white truffle or mushrooms and pairs beautifully with aged cheeses.

Barbara
The Barbera, grown on sun-drenched hillside vineyards with old vines, produces wines with depth, concentration, and elegance. The grapes offer intense aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, and a hint of vanilla. The age of the vines results in a full-bodied, balanced wine with supple tannins, lively freshness, and a refined, lingering finish—a pure expression of the Piedmontese terroir.
