Product information

Label
Three enlarged Barbera grapes emphasise the importance of the grape variety and symbolise the freshness and liveliness of this wine.

Name
Goj (meaning “joy” in the Piedmontese dialect) expresses the desire for something — a mixture of pleasure and cheerfulness.

Harvest
The grapes are picked by hand in the first half of October.

Vinification
The grapes are pressed immediately. Alcoholic fermentation with skin maceration takes place at a constant temperature of 28°C and lasts 6 to 7 days.
Immediately after pressing, ideal conditions are created for malolactic fermentation. Stainless steel tanks are used to preserve and enhance freshness.
The wine's liveliness is obtained through a natural secondary fermentation before bottling.

Maturation and storage
Goj rests in the bottle for 1 to 2 months before being released onto the market.
Although the wine can age for several years, we recommend drinking it young to fully enjoy its freshness and fragrant character.

Characteristics of the wine
Deep purple-red color with subtle violet nuances; bright, with good structure and fluidity. Intense, broad, and persistent bouquet with excellent finesse and openness, revealing pleasant floral and fruity notes.

The taste is dry, lively and balanced, with a beautiful harmony between body, softness and an inviting, cheerful freshness.

Alcohol content
13% vol.

Serving suggestions and combinations
Serve at 14–15°C in medium wine glasses.
An excellent accompaniment to local and national dishes, especially with cold cuts (raw or cooked), simple pasta dishes, risottos, pasta with sauce, white meat, mixed Piedmontese fries and boiled meats.
Also goes well with young cheeses and fresh robiola, seasoned with pepper and olive oil.

Grape variety

Barbara
Barbera, from the hills around Asti, is an authentic Piedmontese grape variety that produces wines with an intense ruby red color, vibrant acidity, and aromas of cherry, blackberry, and violet. This grape produces full-bodied, supple wines with a fresh, fruity style and a pleasant balance between power and elegance—typical of the hilly terroir of Asti.
