Monferrato DOC Nebbiolo “San Giorgio”

The name of this wine comes from a vineyard in Aramengo where the church of San Giorgio stands, one of the Romanesque gems of the region.

Vineyards: Municipality of Aramengo, San Giorgio Hill
Traditional Guyot with 6–7 buds, to obtain low yields per hectare and thus achieve the best grape quality

Harvest: Manual, in crates, in the first half of October

Vinification: Destemming and fermentation with skin maceration for approximately 8 days at a controlled temperature of 26–28°C. After several rackings and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for approximately 12 months in oak barrels. It is then stored horizontally in the bottle for approximately 6 months before being released.

Aroma: Intense, with ripe fruit and jam notes
Taste: Broad attack with lovely soft tannins and a long, persistent finish

Food pairing: Suitable for refined dishes from the Piedmontese cuisine, especially with meat, game and very mature cheeses.
